So, keeping in line with what I’d like in a house…what happened to medicine cabinets?\u00a0 I am in a house with 2 1\/2 bathrooms and zero medicine cabinets.\u00a0 The last house was the same – no medicine cabinets.\u00a0 Where am I supposed to put all those little items?\u00a0 And let’s face it, medicine cabinets are interesting pieces of historical reference.\u00a0 Think about your grandparent’s medicine cabinet.\u00a0 I remember toothpaste powder and odd smelling creams; lavender and hard soap.\u00a0 My grandmother had paregoric in her cabinet!\u00a0 Without a medicine cabinet, where do you put your toothbrush?\u00a0 Seriously, that is a major issue with me.<\/p>\n

If you have read anything about the modern toilet and the fecal matter that flies through the air with each flush, well, you do not want your toothbrush on the sink in an open container.\u00a0 I had to search high and low to find a toothbrush container with a lid.\u00a0 Amazon has everything…just everything.<\/p>\n

Back to the history lesson.\u00a0 Tell the truth.\u00a0 You know you look in people’s medicine cabinets.\u00a0 Everyone does.\u00a0 That’s half the reason to have one…it’s like show and tell.\u00a0 Okay, maybe that is a stretch, but seriously, it is kind of an adventure to try and quietly open what could be a squeaky door and peer into someone’s personal business.\u00a0 And medicine cabinets always have squeaky doors, which is undoubtedly a requirement.<\/p>\n

So, I need to be sure and have medicine cabinets in any and all future bathrooms and I promise I will fill them with interesting bits of historical delight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
