{"id":559,"date":"2012-08-23T10:21:01","date_gmt":"2012-08-23T17:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/smugglerscove.us\/?p=559"},"modified":"2012-08-23T10:21:01","modified_gmt":"2012-08-23T17:21:01","slug":"clock-is-ticking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smugglerscove.us\/?p=559","title":{"rendered":"Clock is Ticking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/smugglerscove.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/dory.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-560\" title=\"dory\" src=\"http:\/\/smugglerscove.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/dory-300x230.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smugglerscove.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/dory-300x230.jpg 300w, https:\/\/smugglerscove.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/dory.jpg 947w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> We are in yet another dog-friendly hotel on the Island.\u00a0 We have two nights and then we have to leave.\u00a0 This is the &#8220;high&#8221; season on the Island.<\/p>\n<p>We have a brand new tent and two nice new sleeping bags.\u00a0 We also brought the blow-up air mattress.\u00a0 Is that to be my new home?<\/p>\n<p>After touring the property and receiving a reality slap-upside-the-head, we came to the conclusion that a trailer won&#8217;t work.\u00a0\u00a0 We either find a house to rent by 11 the next day or we move into the tent on the property.<\/p>\n<p>Motivation&#8230;are you kidding me?\u00a0 Craigslist and the on-line newspaper are perused.\u00a0 Remember, this is the tourist season and many rentals are for the summer.\u00a0 It&#8217;s July 12th (yes, I am behind on posts) and many of the housing rentals are month-to-month for tourists and very expensive.<\/p>\n<p>E-mails are sent and phone message left.\u00a0 We decide to drive-by one house from Craigslist.\u00a0 The price and location are okay.\u00a0 We drive-by.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s just say the tent would have been better.\u00a0 Panic starts to set in.\u00a0 This is so not good.\u00a0 This is so not what we planned.<\/p>\n<p>We head back to the hotel and a realtor calls about a possible rental.\u00a0 I stay with the animals and Mark heads off to see the next house.<\/p>\n<p>I wait.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are in yet another dog-friendly hotel on the Island.\u00a0 We have two nights and then we have to leave.\u00a0 This is the &#8220;high&#8221; season on the Island.
