\"\"<\/a>Look at that tender green new growth.\u00a0 Throughout the years, we have planted trees, lilacs, honeysuckle, cherry trees, irises, a fabulous vegetable garden and much more.<\/p>\n

It is always exciting to see the new growth of the trees.\u00a0 It is soft and vibrant green.\u00a0 It is also slow.\u00a0 Here in the Pikes Peak region, plants need to be coddled and protected; nurtured and closely watched.\u00a0 It may takes years for the roots to take hold.\u00a0 We have trees that have grown and then just given it up.\u00a0 That is always heartbreaking.\u00a0 If we haven’t put a drip-line in, the growth rate is torturous; which in turn makes the successes treasured sights.<\/p>\n

We are off to the land of plenty when it comes to gardening.\u00a0 We will be doing a complete re-evaluation of what grows.\u00a0 Our growing season will be longer.\u00a0 The rains will provide moisture we now covet.\u00a0 The sea will raise the humidity and create a friendly environment for growth.\u00a0 Root rot will take on a whole new meaning.\u00a0 Yellow banana slugs will be amongst the daily visitors to the garden.<\/p>\n

In front of us, we face new challenges and opportunities.\u00a0 There will be lots to learn and mistakes will be made.\u00a0 Our gardening mindset will be challenged, readjusted and hopefully splendorous!\u00a0 Trowels, shovels, and cuttings in hand; bring on the adventure!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
