The other day, while grading papers, I had some old music playing in the background.\u00a0 It was good music, but not all the songs were my choice.\u00a0 It dawned on me that in our new home we MUST get a new turntable and break out all of our albums.\u00a0 Yes, vinyl.\u00a0 They have been boxed since we left Alaska.\u00a0 Seriously.\u00a0 I want to pull out an album and be my own personal DJ.\u00a0 Line that needle up to the exact tune I want to hear.\u00a0 When my favorite Neil Young album slipped from my fingers and a chunk broke off, I could not throw it away.\u00a0 I simply dropped the need past the breakage and dealt with it; beautifully.<\/p>\n

And dancing to the music.\u00a0 I love to dance, especially in the privacy of my own home.\u00a0 Rocking and rolling to the music and shouting and being bodacious!<\/p>\n

When I was a youngster, we had a marvelous Magnavox hi fi.\u00a0 My father ran the Dance \"\"<\/a>Club where he taught.\u00a0 I think all of us girls went along, rather than have a sitter.\u00a0 I loved every minute of it.\u00a0 We’d bring the 45’s home for safekeeping and I’d play them all the time.\u00a0 My mother loved Sinatra and I did, too.\u00a0 Then there was Jack Jones, classical music, and show tunes.\u00a0 My folks would leave the house and I’d have that Magnavox loaded up in a flat second.\u00a0 I’d dance and sing and just love life.\u00a0 I get to do it again.\u00a0 I still have some of those 45’s…yes, I do!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
