Is there anything better than fresh anything?<\/p>\n<p>We are in the midst of a heat wave and that has to be tough for the local farmers.\u00a0 This is not the norm.\u00a0 Or is it the new norm?\u00a0 I sure hope not.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, we had several fires on the Island and that is not okay.\u00a0 They were probably set and that makes it even more horrendous.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s hope we get through the 4th without any more nonsense.<\/p>\n<p>Remember one reason we left Colorado and came here was due to the constant threat of fire in our neck of the woods.\u00a0 Well, it happened after we left and I want that constant threat left in the background.<\/p>\n<p>So, go dig in the dirt and plant something.\u00a0 Eat a big salad today.\u00a0 Hug a tree.\u00a0 Yes, I said that!\u00a0 Hug lots of trees.\u00a0 Oh,\u00a0yesterday we saw and heard a great horned owl on the edge of the driveway.\u00a0 Come back!\u00a0 Hopefully this is a young owl looking for a new home.\u00a0 The welcome sign is out!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The garden is ridiculously verdant!\u00a0 Lush and beautiful!\u00a0 And everything is delicious.\u00a0 We even have cherries on the newly planted trees.\u00a0 Strawberries!\u00a0 Vegetables and vegetables and vegetables!
