We have planted several rhododendrons.\u00a0 At the moment, most of them line the driveway.\u00a0 Some of them have bloomed thus far.\u00a0 Right now, this one has burst forth.\u00a0 The leaves and the flowers are variegated.\u00a0 It doesn’t get much better than that.<\/p>\n
The garden is exploding.\u00a0 A cold frame was built and seedlings have gone from the garage, to the cold frame and into the garden.\u00a0 The Master Gardener found rabbit poop in the garden – not okay.\u00a0 He is now in the process of adding a strip of wire to block their entry.\u00a0 The deer have also taken notice of the expanding plant zone.\u00a0 Yesterday, we watched as one just wandered at the edge of the new plants.\u00a0 What was it thinking?<\/p>\n
“Where are the dogs?”<\/p>\n
“Do I dare stroll in there and nibble?”<\/p>\n
The deer\u00a0munched on the new spring grasses and left the valuable plants alone.\u00a0 Many of those plants have wire cages – a must.<\/p>\n
Last weekend, we drove around to several nurseries on the Island.\u00a0 We visited\u00a0a new one to us.\u00a0 The plants were spectacular.\u00a0\u00a0Of course, we bought a few things.\u00a0 Tomorrow, they’ll go in the ground.\u00a0 The weather is slowly warming and we even saw 70’s in the forecast.\u00a0 Perfect!\u00a0 This is an exciting time of year.\u00a0 The days have lengthened and we appreciate those added hours of sunshine.<\/p>\n
Go dig in the dirt.\u00a0 Plant a few seeds.\u00a0 I want to make some seed bombs with my grandson and toss them hither and yon!\u00a0 Good times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
