\"can\"<\/a>Random daffodils, crocus and hyacinth are blooming around the house.\u00a0 Yesterday, we tossed around thousands of wildflowers seeds.\u00a0 We were going to wait until we had moved dirt in preparation for a vegetable garden space, a path, a shed and a greenhouse.\u00a0 The seed packets were gathering dust on the counter.\u00a0 We decided to toss them around and see what happens.\u00a0 A field of California poppies would be spectacular.<\/p>\n

The heather plants are still blooming, but the bumblebees have vanished.\u00a0 I need to research their lives and patterns.\u00a0 Did they move on to the other plants now at bloom in the forest?<\/p>\n

The bird patterns are also puzzling.\u00a0 We had loads of robins raking through the open areas.\u00a0 Now, there are less of them.\u00a0 I permanently took down the bird feeder.\u00a0 I don’t think these birds need any help from me\u00a0foraging.\u00a0 Although, when I think of the impending clearing next door, I worry about what will be lost.\u00a0 I will have that feeder up in a nanosecond, if need be.\u00a0\u00a0Which brings me to the hummingbirds that have been flitting about.\u00a0\u00a0Do I have a feeder for them or not?\u00a0 Eventually, I would like to have such an abundance of flowers, that the feeder would be\u00a0a moot point.<\/p>\n

The house has not\u00a0yet reached the comfortable old shoe stage, nor\u00a0do I expect it to for quite some time.\u00a0\u00a0The other day I did open another packed box and it was a dandy.\u00a0 It held carefully wrapped, rusted pieces of metal.\u00a0 Treasures for me.\u00a0 An ancient bike chain, assorted tools, a tin can and more.\u00a0 I have several of them in the windowsill.\u00a0 I hesitated for a moment, knowing the metal\u00a0\u00a0might scratch the paint.\u00a0 It is high time I got over that nonsense.\u00a0 The only way this house will reach “well worn shoe” status is for us to live in it, scratch it, bump into things, move things, and pound more nails into the walls.\u00a0 So, the bits of metal are still in the windowsill.\u00a0 A few more nails have been pounded into the walls.<\/p>\n

With the changing of seasons, we have opened windows regularly.\u00a0 This involves adjusting the floor heat so that the heat pump takes a break while the windows are open.\u00a0\u00a0That business is all a learning curve, as we navigate the\u00a0desired comfort level.<\/p>\n

Frogs sing, owls hoot, eagles titter and Spring crawls through the forest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
